This resource is designed to support teachers to create deep thinking tasks that require an inquiry approach.    The tasks involve critical, creative or affective thinking and can be applied to any concept, topic or context.

 They are “Great” tasks because they require inquiry as learners will have to: 

1. DEFINE: the task they have chosen, the literacy & maths involved, and what success will look like
   
2. DO:  create a detailed plan to carry out the task from go to whoa
   
3. DISCOVER:  the knowledge that’s needed to complete their task
   
4. DEEPEN:  ensure they work through deep thinking processes at their developmental level
   
5. DECIDE:  the parts of the curriculum that have been covered or will be met from the inquiry
